Ford Bringing Back the Lightning as Electric F-150 Pickup

Ford is revitalizing the F-150 Lightning name, this time as the all-electric pickup that’s been anticipated for a couple of years now. The F-150 Lightning will be fully unveiled on May 19 at Ford World Headquarters and simultaneously at physical and digital locations throughout the U.S. Locales include Times Square in New York City, Las Vegas Boulevard, Twitter, YouTube, and more.

Production of the electric F-150 will commence next spring at the new Ford Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Michigan.

Previously, the F-150 Lightning name was used on a 1990s sport truck powered by a large V8 engine. This time? Electric motors. The unveiling of the new Lightning will happen on May 19 at 9:30 pm EDT.
